visions

The Christian Doppler Laboratory 'Early Stages of Precipitation' is aimed at developing methods and tools for the prediction of mechanical and technological properties of complex high-performance materials based on a prediction of the evolution of the materials microstructure as a consequence of thermal and thermo-mechanical treatments.

The methodology of the lab is based on the synergy of comprehensive experimental analysis and sound theoretical modelling, where experiment is used to verify the theoretical prediction and simulation aids in interpretation of indistinct experimental data.

We want to advance our understanding of complex precipitation processes, improve our analytical methods to describe the evolution of the materials microstructure, develop tools and methods to predict precipitation processes on the computer and use our knowledge to help our industrial partners to improve their production strategies and develop new materials and processes.
